Evening gents. I finished my 5 years of Honorable service in the USMC. My first half of my contract was FAST (which was awesome!), and the rest was Mortarman in 2/5 Fox Co. I EAS'ed in Oct, 21 2012. At first, I was happy to be out and done with the BS, only to realize that civilian life is even more BS. I use to have aspirations to get my 4 year degree, but since being out, I've had a few epiphonies.

I want back in. So, after the New Years, i'll be meeting with a recruiter to see if I can get my PSEP package in. If I don't make the new quarter, then i'll be hitting up the AF recruiter about Para-Rescue. From what I read, there is even a smaller chance to get that as prior service. That fails, Navy for SCWW. If ALL of those fail, then it's GO Army time, and try to get a Ranger Contract.

If some how there is no way, I guess I'll stay in school and go the Officer route.

Either way, I have never known or felt depression until being out of the military. It is all I think about now! Do you remember way back when, you had that burning desire to get into the military. Yup, I feel like im 19 again, pumped to serve my country...Sorry for this somewhat random rant.

Welcome. Good luck. Friendly suggestion to edit. Some of the AF & Rangers may not take kindly to being 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice. Focus on what you want and achieve.

Welcome and good luck.
Prior Service People are having a hard time getting back in, PJ might be doable in the ANG or AFRes.

SWCC looks (to me) like an awesome career field, but again, you are PS.

I would be making my initial contacts with the AF, Navy, and Army Recruiters now.

My question to you; do you want to shoot people, drive boats or be a high speed paramedic? or are you shooting in all directions looking for a "Cool SOF Job"? because the latter attitude will kill you in selection.

I am serious, decide what you want to do, and go that SOF Route. Failure in a training program generally means a tour in a job close to your skill level.

FAST= MP, AFSF, or Shore Patrol to most folks. Do you want to do 4 years in one of those fields?

Again, welcome and good luck.

Evening gents...

Before you decide on some high speed low drag occupation, you might want to consider your SA. There are women on this board -valuable contributing members of this board; civilians, veterans and active duty, some of whom have held some very HSLD jobs. Who knows? Maybe even a woman recruiter who could very well be a deciding factor in your future aspirations.
