Hey, everyone. I'm 23 and EMT. currently doing my medics cert in college and fire cert. I'm not in the military but started looking into para rescue after a friend in my medics class told me about it and how he got injured after being selected for training. I looked it up and love everything about it. The physical, medical and mental challenge is something I really want to pursue. Other than that I live in Miami, Florida and love reading (currently ready "A Bullet Away" and picking up "Tonight We Die As Men" after) and I enjoy fitness training. Grateful of being part of this forum.

Welcome.

The term would be Pararescue. Proper noun, capitalized, no space. Enlisted guys are called Pararescuemen, or PJ's for short. Officers are called Combat Rescue Officers, or CROs. Pronounced like the bird.

Usage looks like this- you want to be a PJ, because Pararescue looks awesome (cause it is awesome). One day, you'll work with other Pararescuemen and you'll all happily work for/with a CRO.

The more you know...
