Welcome to the site. I used to play a little, I still have a '69 Gibson Les Paul in a display case in the living room. Didn't make it myself though ;)

I've got a friend who's a luthier, though he's a acoustic guitar and mandolin kinda guy. Interesting work you've done. The DCU is a cool touch.

I once had a guitar, I spent a total of about 2 hours on it and then it became a decoration. Should really give it another shot.
