I'm an AAV officer stationed in CLNC and a MARSOC hopeful. I've been in for three years and am currently in Afghanistan. Throughout the deployment I've worked my absolute hardest to provide for the Marines in my Company (it's a Regimental HQCo, so it's a different beast), and being so close to the flagpole gave me an opportunity to understand a different level of leadership. Unfortunately, I saw more bad examples than good, but I learned from them all.

MARSOC is important to me because I hold myself to a higher standard than many of my peers do (I'll be the first to admit that Lieutenants are a mixed bunch). I work well with different types of people, but I'm tired of playing by kindergarten rules. I want to set the bar higher and surround myself with people who are going to make me better, professionally and personally. I'll ask some questions from time to time, so thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Thanks. I've been viewing as a guest for about a week, and I think the forum is great for keeping my progress in perspective. Are there any handicap points for sucking down dust and blackwater fumes during rucks?

Probably not, but I started you off with a "point" on the forum!

I submitted a request on the vetting page, opting for the "email from military address", but I haven't heard anything back. I re-read the vetting information page, but didn't see any amplifying info. How does that option work?

I looked at it as an off forum issue. I vetted after some pm's with an admin; took the same route I did with credentialing. I took the slow route and snail mailed my stuff. It'll work, be patient.
