Verified Military
I'm an AAV officer stationed in CLNC and a MARSOC hopeful. I've been in for three years and am currently in Afghanistan. Throughout the deployment I've worked my absolute hardest to provide for the Marines in my Company (it's a Regimental HQCo, so it's a different beast), and being so close to the flagpole gave me an opportunity to understand a different level of leadership. Unfortunately, I saw more bad examples than good, but I learned from them all.
MARSOC is important to me because I hold myself to a higher standard than many of my peers do (I'll be the first to admit that Lieutenants are a mixed bunch). I work well with different types of people, but I'm tired of playing by kindergarten rules. I want to set the bar higher and surround myself with people who are going to make me better, professionally and personally. I'll ask some questions from time to time, so thanks in advance for any help you can give.
