Greetings,

Active duty sergeant (USMC) in the utilities field (power generation/distribution/electrical work, etc. PMOS 1161, specifically), FTAP. Joined a bit late (currently 28), but have had some of the best and most rewarding experiences during the last four years.
There are a number of contributing factors as to why I am here, though to put it simply - it's been placed on my heart to continue military service through the facet of SOF. The more I learn about the commitment, community, and lifestyle of its members, the more I am reminded of the reasons that I joined the military in the first place.

I am fortunate enough to have the opportunity to attend A&S this August, and as such, have been training my tail off physically and mentally to give it more than my best. I've also been fortunate enough to have many mentors in so many different areas offer advice and guidance (with both the next step and beyond), and I hope to find the same support here. Please don't misunderstand this last statement - by no means am I looking for 'the gouge' or insider information; I respect the discretionary nature of the selection process and understand it's necessity. What I am referring to is guidance on how I can become a more effective person to serve in this capacity the best way that I can in this pursuit and eventually (should I get selected and complete the following-on training) become more cognizant of the issues and challenges that the SOF community is facing as a whole.

I look forward to exploring what this community has to offer, with the hope that I will soon be able to be of better contribution in the near future.

Amat Victoria Curam,

Landon
