My name is Chad. I became a member in order to keep an eye on technological advancements for our soldiers and get a better idea of how to help when my education is complete. I plan to go into the Aerospace/Aernautical field and from there I can work to best serve. I had planned to go into the service and take advantage of any perk offered to a knucklehead for being a Marine Corps ROTC Gunnery Sergeant but I messed around too long and was injured in an auto accident that pushed my steering column through the firewall of my vehicle and smashed my skull while whatever else broke my leg severely. I flat lined in the hospital but they were able to revive me, place a plate in my head and a rod in my leg and I was in and out of there in 5 days, recovered on my own without physical therapy using exercise and stretching and cut my own cast off with an extra long bread knife. It took a few years of hard labor to realize I could do better with an education and now I've got a chance to serve with what I know when it is complete. I enjoy reading about our troops up and coming and pray for the families and loved ones of those we have lost. I hope to get a position at Lockheed Martin after all the school but if not I'll try elsewhere and do my best there.

Not sure I understand this sentence. Any chance you could clarify?

Welcome... but what did you say? I mean I think I got it, but there might be a better place for "keep an eye on technological advancements for our soldiers and get a better idea of how to help when my education is complete." specifically in "the Aerospace/Aernautical Aeronautical field". Regardless I hope you find whatever you're looking for and hopefully can provide some good insight for the forums Chad.

Interesting story....nice to hear you didn't lacerate your leg too badly while de-casting it yourself...........and other things. Hope you find SS to be of value to you, many do.

Sure. When I was in high school the Marine Corps had a program to prep young cadets for the expectations and responsibilities of officers in the corps. I started when I got to that school and stayed for the remainder of my time. That was three or four years straight through, I can't remember the exact time because like always the programs and class placements were being shuffled to fit money available for facilities and faculty. We had a Major and a Master Sergeant that worked close with all of us and had several go off into different branches of the military. At the time, I was into a less than acceptable way of life and had my hands on pretty much anything a young man wants whenever I wanted it. There was a long stretch of having it that way and then I crashed hard and was left with a different perspective. That is the best I do to explain the Knucklehead part. I went through the ranks and left out at Gunnery Sergeant in that ROTC program. When your done with that you get a slight bump to start off from and a foundation in what it is to be an officer in the Marine Corps. Hope that clarifies the issue. Let me know if there is anything else, sometimes my writing will assume a reader's familiar with me. Bad habit but I guess a guy could have worse. Thanks. Cool throat punch ad!

Thanks, I'm not going to be able to pursue that field due to finance at this time but I am able to keep moving in IT and Electronics Engineering. Realistically, I'm 30 years old and by the time I get this stuff done, I'll be ready for a vacation. Technology will pay higher in the long run but I kind of dig the math stuff and wanted to kick some ass with my calculator.

Exciting stuff. Welcomeeeeeee.

No I didn't cut my leg off taking the cast away but the smell was funky enough to still be fresh in mind and surely layered somewhere on the walls of that old apartment. Disco never knew a funk the scary.

Um, welcome.

It's a uniform with all the same fixins but your rank has a wish lamp in it instead of the other stuff. you rub it real gentle and wish you were a Marine. If you rubbed it the right way...

An empty sack can hardly stand upright.

Thanks.
