Good afternoon,
My name is Josh, I am 22 years old and I am a Cpl currently serving in the Marine Corps as an 1142, generator mech.
I was born in Beaufort, SC and have lived on just about every major Marine Corps installation in CONUS. When I was 16 I moved to Knoxville, TN with my dad and remained there on our farm until I graduated high school. Two days after graduation I was on the bus headed for Parris Island, SC.
Originally I enlisted as a Reservist, but quickly realized I made a very bad decision. After completing two drills I was requested to work at HQMC for Active orders. While in headquarters I managed to make some pretty good contacts who convinced me to do a tour of I&I duty on the Active Reserve program. I am approaching my four year mark and have managed to attain a meritorious promotion to Cpl, and I will be receiving my Associates in Criminal Justice this April.
I have lurked on this forum for a pretty long time and learned quite a bit from the abundance of knowledge that is being slung around. I am joining in hopes of gaining some further knowledge in the world of MARSOC as a CSO so that I can better myself and be that much further ahead of my peers.
I look forward to getting to know some of you.
