Hello members of Shadowspear.

First off I would like to thank all of you for your service past, present, and future. I am a USAF DEPer with a 4 year contract with Security Forces. I leave for basic in January of 2014. My father is active duty Air Force with 22 years of service. I am very interested in Spec Ops and if possible will cross train into TACP the future. Thank you have a good one.

Welcome. Little advice about TACP, I would try to get a contract now for TACP and wait your time in the DEP. Cross-Training into TACP is extreamly difficult and competetive especially coming from an AFSC of Security Forces where they arn't to happy to release it's memebers to another AFSC.

Welcome to the site. You should definitely get TACP in your contract if that's what you're interested in. Most recruiters know little to nothing about us, and we've even heard of recruiters actively trying to steer guys away from TACP. So don't let the recruiter tell you that you just can't get it. You may have to wait, but the chain to get a shot will ultimately be shorter than going in as SecFo and then trying to switch.

Thanks for all of your advice I actually can't get TACP right now because I have bad depth perception due to the fact my eyes are 2 different prescriptions. I have to wait to get PRK to correct this. I probably should have said this upfront.
