Good afternoon all,

I joined the Army in 2004 as an 11B. Was stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii for the first 5 or so years of my career. I served as a rifleman in a regular infantry platoon and spent sometime holding various positions in a sniper team. Currently I am coming to the end of my recruiting duty in California which has me looking to the future and my career path. A little more about myself. I am a city boy born in California. I enjoy golf though I am fairly new to the sport. I spend a good amount of time reading War Hammer books or in the gym.

My intentions on this site are to absorb information that has been put out about Army Green Berets. I have checked other websites as well and the mentorship oppurtunities available on this website caught my eye. My physical is complete and I will be retesting for the AFCT later this month to raise my GT score to the standard required to attend SFAS. My goal will be to attend the June or July selection, as I am in a fenced in unit and cannot be touched till my time is up here.

Thank you to the members and moderators who make this site what it is. Tons of good information on here. I look forward to using the search ability presented on this site as a member. Also thank you for all those who have served in the military past, present and for those who are looking to partake in the military in the future.

Thank you all for the welcomes

SOWT- Recruiting itself actually helped my fitness as a whole( Not having to run everyday like the line does ). Where I am at we play by "Big Boy" rules. So we all meet for PT together but are on your own program as long as you're passing the APFT. I was also in charge of the DEP program. So running with high school track stars and the like kept me in good shape. However I ended up getting surgeries on both of my lower legs after being diagnosed with compartment syndrome in one compartment in my left leg and two compartments in my right leg. So as of right now I'm in sub par shape. Took an APFT early December with my company just as I was coming off profile( almost a year ) and scored a 277. My run obviously being my crutch. I know what I need to work on and have been doing so since that day, legs feel like they did when I was 17, just have been going on moderate runs for the most part and a heavy run about once a week. Looking to bump it up in March. Been following an Ironman regimen that a friend recommended.
