Hey everyone,
I was scanning the forums browsing info on MARSOC and saw how helpful and informative this site seems to be. I am 27 years old and currently a Cpl in the USMCR. I am with MP Company Bravo out of Pittsburgh, PA. I currently live in Richmond, VA with my wife and dog. I have been in the Marines for a little over 2.5 years. I have not had the opportunity to deploy yet, though our unit has been fortunate to gain an awesome AT this summer that I am very excited about. I currently teach 9th grade World History as my civilian job. I originally chose to go reserve because my fiance (now wife) had an great job opportunity and I was fully certified as a secondary history teacher. My unit had several deployments to OIF and OEF and I believed that I would have the best of both worlds. After a year and a half teaching and no deployments on the horizon, I have discovered that I want to do a lot more with the Marine Corps and less with teaching. I am now looking into MARSOC and hoping to gain a lot of information from the forums. I have not talked with a MARSOC recruiter yet, but plan on it after I return from AT in late June. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.
