Introduction

I am, when you get selected in A&S your MOS changes to 03xx, when you graduate ITC you recieve the MOS of 0372.

So did they outline to you what will happen if you fail to make it through ITC?

Will you be sent back to the fleet as a Disbursing Tech, or to School of Infantry ITB to get an 03 MOS?

There was a time when Marines who didn't complete ITC, for whatever reason, we're reverted back to their original MOS and returned to the fleet. To my knowledge, there were even a few individuals that successfully put in reenlistment/lat move (RELM) packages, and we're able to serve the Marine Corps in a new capacity far removed from SOF. Due to the recent drawdown and ensuing after effects, Marines that fail to graduate ITC are more often than not forced to leave active service. For those currently in or preparing to attend ITC, it's safe to say your entire future rests on walking across that stage. There are very few second chances in ITC barring the occasional medical recycle. Maybe that motivating factor will come in handy when things get really tough.

Truly embodies "Do or Die"!

Welcome to ShadowSpear, Dmoney.

Yes they do, they tell you that you have three options upon failure of ITC.
-Go back to your previous MOS and fulfill your contract
-Attempt another high priority MOS right now which is EOD, Counter-Intel, and Recon.
-Get Admin Separated from Active Duty.

From what I hear most guys choose to get admin sepp'd since going back to the Fleet Marine Corps is miserable after spending some time in MARSOC, some choose to go Recon or EOD, very few actually go back to their MOS's. Don't quote me on that, that's all scuttlebutt.

Don't knock it 'till you try it. It's not for everyone, but if the option is open should you have to fall back on Plan B, I recommend you take that path.

That makes sense. I wonder if it will negatively affect your re-enlistment chances if you go back to your previous, non-critically undermanned MOS.
