Finally decided to join. I spent ten years on Active Duty as an Engineer and Infantry Officer in the Army. Separated in October 2014 and went into contracting with Engility. This past summer I enlisted in the Alabama National Guard and was initially assigned to the 142d BFSB in Decatur. In September, I transferred to 20th SFG (A) and am now in the GSTC in Birmingham. I am waiting to go to 35N AIT, which should be sometime in the spring. I have deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan, and my last assignment as an officer was with the 198th Infantry Brigade at Fort Benning, which handles all Infantry Basic Training for the Army. I was a company commander there, then eventually moved up to the Brigade Operations officer (S-3). If you have questions about basic training, feel free to send them my way.
