Hey guys,

My name is Prashant and I'm currently in DEP for the Air Force, hoping to become a CCT, and later on, a PJ. I joined this forum to meet and talk with members of the SOF community, which in turn would give me the opportunity to learn from those I consider mentors. I used to work at a college library and left school this quarter to focus on swimming, rucking and all the good stuff. In my free time I like to hike, take a couple photos, and run. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this community.

Welcome to the site. Why CCT and then PJ? Pretty different AFSCs.

Welcome to SS. I am wondering how far along you were in "school", I am guessing undergrad, when you deciced to pull out. While I admire your dedication in prep work for the military, I am wondering how much you gave up to do this?

You are correct for guessing undergraduate. I left halfway through my junior year of pre-med, but I decided I wanted to join the military right after my freshman year but didn't figure out what job I wanted to do until about a year ago when my friend, who was in the marines told me about pararescue. From there I went and learned to swim, found out about combat control, weighed my options out, and decided I wanted to be a controller and then become a PJ. From what I've gathered, I think everyone has to sacrifice something in order to achieve what they want, so I am more than willing to give up a couple things.
