Hi Shadow Spear community,

I'm an Army CPL in MI preparing go to selection for SF. I was searching online for resources and workouts and found this site. I'm looking for any and all advice on how to prepare myself physically and mentally. I want to hear from the guys that have been there and all the selection horror stories to see what I'm getting myself into. The SF unconventional warfare mission is what attracts me the most. That and the opportunity to work with a small group of dedicated professionals. It will be a while before I can drop a packet due to deployment so my 25 meter target is improving my strength and endurance and learning more about different aspects of the selection. Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome.

Ironically, this dropped yesterday.

Progress Report from Q Course

I don't know how the Army will handle female Soldiers for the SFQC, but I would train to the male APFT and beyond. Discard the women's APFT numbers. A huge ass ruck and telephone poles don't care about your chromosomes.

Try using the search feature for SFAS and SFQC. You'll get the phone book, but wade through them. As someone in MI you should be used to a lot of admin work. :-)

Good luck and keep us posted.

I read and re-read that progress report you posted. It was awesome to see someone start from where that guy was with his functional fitness and see what he could accomplish with the right mind-set and hard work. It was also exactly what I was looking for in terms of an overview of what goes on without the G2 cheats. Thanks for posting that and the advice you've given.
