Hello everyone, my name is Ben. I will try to complete this introduction without boring you with my entire life story. I come from an Army family and for those of you who have had the pleasure of staying at Ft. Polk
my uncle owns the Hickory Smokehouse BBQ restaurant on base.
Anyway, I am currently a Pharmacy technician and manager of an independent compounding pharmacy with 10 years of experience and looking to go 68W and eventually 18D. I know I am older than many of the first time enlistees posting here but I do not consider it a detriment. I have learned from what feels like a lifetime of mistakes and struggle.
I know that nothing can truly prepare you for the task of becoming a soldier but I am confident I have what it takes. I derive my confidence from an insatiable passion for reading, study, and combat sports. If there is anything I have learned them its humility. As a smaller fighter in a gym full of vets and killer athletes its either be willing to learn or :blkeye:. The work ethic from the Marines I have trained with has really inspired me go after this dream.
I wanted to thank X SF Med ahead of time as I have learned so much from lurking and reading his posts. -Ben
