My name is Ben Christian. I'm 25 years old, blessed to be born and raised in northern California by the beautiful beaches of Santa Cruz. My family has a long history of men and women who have served in the various branches of the armed forces and I was raised with a deep love of country, appreciation for the treasure of ordered liberties that we enjoy, and respect for those who protect and defend it. I currently live in upstate NY with my wife and daughter with another baby on the way. I grew up pursuing a career in the AF as a fighter pilot, even got so far as getting the nomination from my senator, but I screwed it up when I got in some bad trouble at the end of H.S. I took another direction thinking I wasn't of much use to the military anymore, but was recently made aware of Air Force's Special Operations, particularly their Pararescue program, and have been working hard to get my paperwork through in order to take my shot at serving my country in that capacity via the Air National Guard. I poked around on this site a bit and, seeing some of the thread topics and conversations, decided to join as I have a few questions about the process, particularly in regards to my family, that I'd like to get answers to.
