Hello all! I am currently nineteen years old and going to college full time with the intention of majoring in physics. I have been running cross country and have been preparing to run my first marathon with a few buddies. (Currently running 10 miles a day, alternating a ruck every other day.) I love to swim, as I was on the swim team and I will be signing up for a triathlon very soon. I went to Marine Corps Parris Island Recruitment Depot a few years back with my JROTC company and fell in love with the Marine Corps. Ever since then I have thought about commissioning. Thus, I will be attending platoon leaders course this summer. What brings me to this very informative website is the notion of going recon as an officer. Recon seems like a nice fit for me because of the fact that I am not scared of the water, love to push myself through pain and misery, and would love to have the competitive social aspect of reconnaissance community. Of course, merely being apart of the Marine Corps community will be enough for me and make me very proud. However, if I can prove to show that I am not weak or fainthearted, why not join the toughest of the tough. Thanks for ya'lls time.
