I'm a 19 yr old college student currently in Alabama that is considering military service after college (or drop out and join up if I make the mistake of reading Starship Troopers again). I have been blessed with some unusual opportunities, in that I have been doing AFROTC for the last year on tech scholarship, and have been awarded a NROTC non-tech scholarship for the upcoming fall. My goal was to fly.
Recently I have been reading the board and been super drawn to the SOF world, specifically Army SF and Navy EOD (along with Foreign Legion, which may be more of a Kerouac impulse). Specifically the life in SOF and the ability to get out before I turn 35, and work in a field that isn't being an airline pilot after. I figured this was more of an enlisted path.
