Hi Gents, prior service enlisted sailor here. I have a niche question I'm getting mixed answers on: Assuming he is otherwise qualified, can a Guard JAG officer attend an SFRE/SFAS, get selected, and cross-branch to 18A?
I've heard of situations where specialty-branch officers were allowed to attend SFAS. But I've also heard that a JAG would need to resign his commission, re-branch to a basic branch, wait till he was O2-P, and then try out for SFAS. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
