I think that headline makes it seem more dire than it is. Two chunks of land being returned to Jordan is not quite as bad as it made it seem.
What will be interesting is if Israel is willing to honor the terms of the treaty or not; the actions taken in that matter could be a much bigger cause for concern.
Jordan has a history of posturing itself publicly to placate its hard-line Arab neighbors and its restless in-country Palestinian population; while offering assurances to Israel under the table. IMV this is just for show.
