Let's see that shooter

Okay, we're "mostly" done. Waiting on some heat shielding, a muzzle device for an FCD Plan B 1210 brake/mount, Geissele MCX SSA M4 trigger, and my ammo orders in bulk.

This thing is very handy. I'm going to treat it as a PCC (it's in 300 Black Out after all) but with slightly more efficient ballistics. Basically it's a civilian's PDW. And yes, it's still functional with that single sling mount way back there. I dislike single points for rifles, however this one is actually good to go for the niche single point.

I'm not going to make a thread, this should a be picture and discussion of shooters thread IMO.

Anyway, I have to laugh, the Army is back to carbines again with the M8. Millions, perhaps billions wasted on this nonsense when that money could have been better spent on ammo and the time for every unit out there to get better training with more range time. If a place like Thunder Ranch or Gunsite can take a student with absolutely zero gun time and given a whole week we'd see a more trained shooter than the ones we have in uniform. Just a full week, just one measly full on week with their place of duty at ranges across every post, camp, and airfield, we'd have better and more efficient shooters in all of FORSCOM even with CS and CSS units.

A few days in the Army pushed my fascination with M4's in their countless costume combinations way to the bottom of my list full of things I need. Couple that with getting into Cowboy Action Shooting a few years ago, and I've gotten to where most of my purchases these days are 'old west range toys'
Last weekend was no different.

Ruger Vaquero's Chambered in .44-40
These two are a matching set but because of the morning light coming through the windshield they have bit bit of difference in the way they are reflecting the light.

Cowboy Action Shooting is fun! Some guys let me do a stage when they offered their guns and ammo saying I should try it. Not my thi8ng but it's definitely fun to do.

I understand being burnt out of M4's. It's semi serious and a bit of fun for me though. But I can like other things. Ever since buying that mouser Colt, I am thinking about getting a few more mouse guns in .25 ACP. The Beretta 950 is on the buy now list.

A few months back, I went out to the range with some friends from work that had set up an "intermural" three gun match. I made the comment that as long as they kept the stages revolver neutral, and kept the rifle round count to no more than 10 rounds per stage, I'd show up and shoot ALL cowboy guns and match gear.
- I even wore my cowboy hat, boots, chaps, and spurs
Instead of mandatory reloads with pistols - I had to shoot one pistol dry - holster it - and draw my second one.

I did NOT win.
I wasn't even close to "winning"
I also did NOT finish last.
...and I did better with my Side-by-Side 12 gauge "Coach Gun" than a few folks did with their 1500 dollar tactical shotguns.

Much shit was talked to the two folks that I beat.
...the guy with the SIG-P320 caught the lions share of the shit talking
