Good morning gentlemen! I am considering joining the florida or massachussetts national guard. I'll be attending college at the same time. Hopefully I'll make selection for SOF, maybe an STO. I'm a greenhorn but I know I'll make a better officer than nco. I like just about everything. Life is good. Mouth shut eyes and ears open.

Yes I read something along those lines. I'm attempting to make it through college without getting deployed. I think I'm doing split option type contract. I kinda want to get basic over with then go to freshman year. instead of freshman year then basic. 11B is a little dangerous and simple. I will try to go into "the activity" very gold book by the way. I'll see once I pass basic whether or not I like being in the Danger zone!! Warrior of intelligence

Do you know the difference between the Air Force and the Army?
STO is an Air Force (hence ANG) career field, split option is an Army National Guard/Reserve option.
How do you plan on becomming an Air Force/Air national Guard asset if you are in the Army National Guard?

2 years of jrotc and 1 year of civil air patrol. I only went to cpl. So I couldn't say. I feel more of a tactician and a leader than a gunfighter. Characteristic like Shepard and a shaman. Please enlighten or belittle me as needed.
