I recently went to the doc and when they stuck that needle in my arm we found out that not only do I bleed red, but also white and blue. It was at that moment I knew I had to become a PJ.
All kidding aside -- My name is Lyle Quillin and I'm from an overgrown farm town in California. I've been an athlete my whole life all the way through college where I Pole Vaulted (and not for intramurals) and got a business degree. During college I started a business, [after graduation] sold real estate, and just recently started flipping homes. Married, 2 dogs. I think being a part of the business that keeps the bad guys at bay and our turf safe is a sacred task. I figure I need to join the party before I get too old and can't do any of the fun stuff. So that brings me here. A few days after meeting with a local recruiter I took the ASVAB [92] and am awaiting MEPS. Started training about 6 weeks - even joined a gym. Feels good to be back in a big sweaty box. The three years after college I didn't do much of anything except work, work, and get married. After getting back into it I'm currently at 6:00 pace for 1.5 miles and 9 minute for the swim, underwater is a go.
Being married I am very interested to learn from other PJ's on this board and what deployment schedules , base living, and what job tasking will be like.
I've got a handful of questions that I'll post here, but I don't expect specific answers. If you feel so inclined please reference specific threads to which I can sift through for the answers.
1. Deployment schedule. Will this change with some of our forces withdrawing from the middle east?
2. is CRO the only officer opportunity in the same line of work or are there PJ officers?
3. When back from a deployment does most training take place on or near base or will I be gone frequently even when at home?
4. I would like a better understanding of the training pipeline. It sounds like basic then indoc, then based in New Mexico until graduation and going to the other schools when they become available...?
5. Will the wife be able to PCS out once stationed in NM?
