Retired Chief Warrant Officer 4 Mike Durant, a Black Hawk helicopter pilot who was shot down and held captive in Mogadishu, Somalia in 1993 spoke at the Army War College Feb. 15 about the events leading up to the battle and how it affected him personally and professionally.

Great video and speech. But Mike flubbed the number of Night Stalkers who have died since the beginning of OEF. He said 2. Not even close. Unfortunately.

Video was shot in 2011.

Yeah, Rav, I think you're right. I couldn't wrap my head around how he could get that wrong. He remains very in touch with the unit.

Makes sense, thanks.

I'm not suprised he is. Mara wrote once that if anything would have gone wrong, he would have prefered to serve at that time with the 160th.
You people really take care of your won.

I never got a chance to meet Mike, when ever WONSA would come around it was always rumored he was in the AO. I have the utmost respect for him, last year while at our booth in the ADS show in VA Beach they announced his birthday over the loudspeaker.
