MoH recipient Dakota Meyer...

...re-enlists into the Marine Corps Reserve.

That'll lead to some interesting conversations and interactions in the reserve center....
Wow. million jokes ready to go, but I’ll pump the brakes. The guy earned the Medal of Honor and actually lived to talk about it — which is almost mythological. Of course, life after the Corps turned into a bit of a reality show… with plot twists.

I’ll leave the comedy to the rest of you on this one.

Best of luck to him. Semper Fi.

The comedy will be in the suck of the drill hall, all that time of doing nothing with countless hours of boredom, thinking, "what have I done?"

But. But at any level he will be a model NCO and inspiration. Can you imagine telling people who got a chance to serve with him?

I noticed the articles I've read didn't state his unit or job. I would not be surprised if he becomes some type of "ambassador" travelling around at recruiting events, giving speeches promoting the Corps, etc. for his drill weekend. Or is he a fulltime Active Reservist? You're not going to see him in a motor pool anytime soon unless it is a photo op.

I&I staff/AR is a pretty sweet gig, not going to lie. I haven't seen anything regarding unit/MOS either. It's gonna suck if all he does is sit around counting ceiling tiles until chow though I think he's going to be far more engaged.

We had Marines whose "full-time" reserve job was to do funeral details, parades, etc., because no one else wanted to do them.

Like @Ooh-Rah said, a lot of jokes will write themselves but I'm absolutely down for this. Well done.
