Hello all 
I’m Phil and I would like to introduce myself. I will keep this “shortish” as it seems this is the norm. I work in Manchester, England as a support worker. I support people to overcome hardship and difficulties, mostly Homelessness. I have supported many Vets in the 9 years I have been doing this work, all of whom are ex-British forces. My grandfather served in the Naval Forces WW1, and my father had a short stint in Germany during his service much later. Last but defo not least was my Uncle who my father talked about regularly, Sergeant John Readitt who was awarded the Victoria Cross for Valour on the battlefield at Alqayat-at-Gaharbigah Bend, Mesopotamia, while serving in the South Lancashire Regiment from 1915 to 1919. Pure Military Histoy People. The story is too long for an intro, but I’m sure one of you will check this out, it’s worth it. Since the stories were told to me as a child, I knew I needed to honour these memories somehow. So, here I am letting you all know... I truely appreciate the hard work and pain you all go through to become the best of the best. Respect.
