Norway to Raise German Sub

Pretty neat stuff. This was the first recorded sub to sub kill in history too as I recall. In a perfect world they could clean it up and restore it somehow, even if it was just sections of it.

Norway's government has said it plans to surface a Nazi submarine loaded with mercury that sank off its shores in 1945 that poses an environmental hazard.

Interesting, I wonder how dangerous the mercury reall is to the environment though.
I cant imagine it floating around contaminating things, my uneducated guess would be that it'd sit on the bottom until covered by dirt etc...

I think there is a U-boat in Chicago, I'd love to see one.

U-505 is in Chi-town. Flown through O'Hare a bunch, but I've never seen the sub.
