Saw this on kickstarter, think it's pretty cool being Canada and England compliant....being spoiled in the US, didn't realize some of the restrictions in other places.

"While a non-locking mechanism may seem a bit outdated, one of the main benefits of StatGear having designed the LEDGE with a slip-joint action is that it is legal in countries like Canada and the UK that have more stringent laws regarding carry knives. "

Looking at the 2018 UK knife laws, non-locking folding knives with a 3 inch blade or less are legal, anything else you have to have a good reason to carry in public, ie...knives for work..etc.

Basic laws on knives

It’s illegal to:

  • sell a knife to anyone under 18, unless it has a folding blade 3 inches long (7.62 cm) or less
  • carry a knife in public without good reason, unless it has a folding blade with a cutting edge 3 inches long or less
  • carry, buy or sell any type of banned knife
  • use any knife in a threatening way (even a legal knife)

My daughter-in-law gave me an OKC RAT-1 a month ago. She works in an industrial laundry and, finds knives all the time. Maybe we could box them all up occasionally. Then send them on over. The knife laws there are effing ridiculous.
