Parachute Regiment Farce.

So our government has in their infinite wisdom, cut back on Army training funding. So now our Parachute Regiment, wont be....Parachuting?
The cutbacks mean that successful Para Selection soldiers, won't be trained to jump. And every Para that knows, won't have their refresher jumps every year.
This also coincides with the withdrawal of of the beloved C-130 from service.

I couldn't agree more.
It's bad news for everyone involved. They specialize in aerial insertion. Not for example, a sea-born insertion. So what do we do when we have no more trained paras? Push them out of a plane with a weight attached and hope for the best?
Its also hitting close to home, because i was aiming for Paras. :wall:

Absolutely ridiculous. Our government disbanded The Canadian Airborne Regiment and we subsequently lost the main bunk of our parachuting infiltration skills.
