Ran across this on the web today. I see it every few months or so and it gives me chills each time I hear him speak this -

Yeah, I see that every now and then. Always makes my eyes moist.

Reagan was far from the conservative president people made him out to be (or thought he was), he had his issues political and professional, but he cared. And he led.

...and he scared the piss out of the Russians.

The Man didn't need to win my devotion. He had it long before he made this statement about the units I served with in Vietnam:

"The various units of the Combined Action Forces were outstanding and without parallel in combat in South Vietnam. These were the forces that actually lived among the South Vietnamese people and worked closely with South Vietnamese units to defend remote population centers. Even though these forces suffered tremendous losses, they persisted in their outstanding service to their country and to the cause of a free South Vietnam. I salute all members of the Combined Action Forces, survivors and fallen together. God Bless you."

It just made me love the guy more.
