We've had a number of Marines join who were looking for information about MARSOC. Either prep work, the process from IRR, reclassing, whatever the case. Some stick around, some don't, and that's understandable. As a member of the staff I'm glad to see the word get out. I have a running joke about the danger of teaching Marines to read, but that's all it is: a joke.
With that said, the OP is entirely correct and the board has seen a run of "10%'ers" for lack of a better term. We like for a community to police its own, so when Marines step out of line we welcome vetted Marines on this board nudging them in the right direction. The same is true of any branch or subset within the military. Rangers, 82nd Airborne, National Guard, Sailors, Submariners...whatever the case.
@Ooh-Rah1069 posted this without solicitation, the staff didn't put him up to it, but I wanted to follow up to show that we agree with the sentiment. We've had an unfortunate run of late with some of our Marine members.
Perhaps another way of looking at it is: how would you conduct yourself on your first day in a platoon? Joining a group that has been together for a while and you're new regardless of your rank? How would you act in another man's house?
Food for thought. Carry on.
