Hello ShadowSpear Community, thank you for the opportunity to join this platform and allowing us access to this amazing wealth of information.

My name is <MOD EDID>, age 33, I am a former US Navy SAR Swimmer/Logistic Specialist. DD214 can be provided for verification of service and qualifications. I served primarily as a logistic specialist with SAR quals, which enabled me to participate as a medic/team member of our <MOD EDIT> teams in the <MOD EDIT> conducting anti-piracy operations during 08-09. Fun times, I don’t regret being a box kicker on a small boy as I learned critical logistic solutions I now use in the sometimes volatile and similar Commercial Construction industry. I am currently on my 4th year of working for an electrical distributor as an outside sales, where I taught myself how to read electrical plans to better help my customers and subsequently been sent to GE’s advance switchgear school in Mebane, NC.

Naturalized citizen (while serving in USN), originally born and raised in Perpignan, France.

I speak fluent French, English, and working on Spanish fluency, learning Arabic (albeit very slowly).

Fortunate to have grown up next to water & mountains my whole life, my hobbies and passions heavily reflect on the type of environment I was raised in: mountain ultra-marathons, body surfing, open ocean swims, night lobster dives, spearfishing, land navigation/orienteering, fast-packing, to name a few.

My favorite deployment was 08-09 in the horn of Africa. Here I learned and gained a better understanding of Somalia and the reasons we were there. I have a deep passion for reading, learning other cultures, languages, and making genuine human connections. My enlistment was fulfilled and off I went into the civilian world; fast forward into what I have deemed enough time to grow wiser, humbler, overcome setbacks, and gain a deeper understanding of who I am. As some members might be able to relate to, occasionally you need to be served a big slice of humble pie (sometimes 2) from life, eat it, learn from it, and keep moving forward no matter how slow. This was partly learned from climbing mountains and ultramarathons, you cannot lie to yourself about your abilities on the side of a cliff; quite simply put, ego has no place in that environment.

I believe deep down, I have always been hardwired for service to others and am looking to gain a better understanding of the SF community, most specifically the 18D pipeline. I strongly believe this is the next step in my personal and professional growth. Many might point out that I could simply follow the path of my younger brother and become a firefighter paramedic; but I believe every job I have done since getting out has been a culmination of what brings me here today. I am certain that in order to reach some life goals, I need to possess a much higher level of trauma care, tactically sound decision making, and learning from the long road to becoming an 18 Delta. Thank you all for taking time out of your day to help the future generations of your respective communities.

I left name and other details, after reviewing community rules again I realize this might be a violation of OPSEC. Apologies to the mods and understand if my post is taken down, and I need to re-write a cleaner version.

No worries. There were a few things I edited out, "just in case", to include your name.

Best of success to you, we recevied your vetting paperwork.

Hello, welcome et bienvenue. :)

Some similar areas, although in very different years, I'm neither US citizen nor French, but very glad you seem doing okay in life and found the community.

Solid intro, welcome!

Just a thought, if you'd like to continue in the ways of maritime boardings on your path, consider the USMC Reconnaissance community - the only DoD asset (not counting SMUs) that has maintained a continuous non-compliant and opposed boarding capability throughout the GWoT.
