Ok, so I know I should only be concerned with the 25m, but I have a question that's really been itching me, and I don't think it's been answered anywhere. Over the course of six years, is it likely that a Ranger could get a shot at RRC? I've heard that recon positions are only open to warrant officers, but I've also heard that you can apply right after you get your tab. Which one is true? Is it the same with Special Forces? Is it even possible to go SFARTAETC and get into a CIF team within six years?

Yes, no, no, not SF so I have no clue.

Regimental Recon conducts selections whenever they need to, and you need to have been in a leadership position wherever you currently work (In Regiment) for a year plus some other special things before you are eligible to try out.

While I have resources to find out more from proper horses mouths of friends who've been there for years, etc... I'm not, because there's no point in it. Regiment's got enough information out there to make your decision of what you want to do prior to signing a contract of whatever type, and there's a whole lot of shit you need to do and prove yourself through before either of those opportunities would even present themselves.

You're literally worrying about the weather on Mars without even having a proven space program that can exit the atmosphere of the Earth.

Recon/warrant officer wtf???

Statistically speaking, you stand a good chance of not even getting in on the ground level, let alone making it to an advanced skills capacity.

Both paths mentioned are more or less two selection processes deep. There are certain schools that have a very high failure rate, and there is a probationary period in said units.
