HUNTER ARMY AIRFIELD, Ga. (USASOC News Service, April 29, 2008) – About 800 Rangers from 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment will be recognized for their combat actions in a combat awards ceremony at Hunter Army Air Field 11 a.m. May 2. Among the awards scheduled to be presented are 10 Bronze Star Medals for valor, three Joint Commendation Medals for valor, three Army Commendation Medals for valor and numerous other awards.

The ceremony will be held in the Truscott Air Terminal, Hunter Army Airfield.

Several family members will also be recognized during the ceremony for their volunteer efforts in support of the unit and its family readiness program.

The National Military Family Association has chosen a family from 1st Bn., as their April 2008 Family of the Month. This award is scheduled to be presented to the family.

Soldiers from the unit returned to Hunter Army Air Field last month. This marks the 10th deployment of the battalion to Afghanistan and Iraq in support of operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
