Sean.... you have not shipped yet, nor have you been to any Assessment/Selection Course. Your answer is only partially correct.... and is only a link.

The thought just occurred to me will I be allowed to wear contact lenses when I am at RASP?

No. Think of it logically, you will be in the field a great portion of the time, possibly crossing rivers, or in blowing debris.... and should a piece of some sort of debris got under one of the lenses and caused injury, you would at best be recycled, more probably sent to World Wide assignment. Bring 2 pairs of glasses, 3 or 4 is better... and if you can get them polycarbonate lenses are what you want.

Plus it's easier to just grab your extra pair of glasses from an easily accessible area in your kit than have to stop the entire platoon so you can remove a contact lens, or have somebody look for one moved in your eye, then remove it, and have to put on your glasses anyway... good retention straps for glasses too....
