Hey everybody. Been a long time, but just swore in as a USAR 38B with an Airborne Bn so I figured I'd drop back in. Since apparently every member of the 2016 graduating class enlisted this year I won't be shipping til July, but hey, at least I get to do BCT in 99% humidity at Benning during the hottest months of the year. 
Mostly back to get some pointers from current 38 NCOs and Officers to how best be an asset to the team when I show up, since outside of reading up on the various cultures of our AOR I'm pretty clueless. Most of the people at the S1 shop know me on paper already (1st shirt at MEPS had some gripes about my paperwork, but the commanders of both my unit and recruiting Bn intervened on my behalf), and I'm excited about the job, so I wanted to be as prepared as possible when I get there (culturally/educationally in addition to the requisite physical training) and, hopefully, be an asset to them while I'm pre-basic for the next 7 damn months.
