I've said this in my intro, but it gives some substance to my issue. I'm a deployed Reserve Engineer O2 filling an Individual Augmentee slot. I transferred to the IRR to be able to be tasked to the position. I'm looking to go AD when I get back home, probably CA. I'm versed in the steps that need to be taken and how the pipeline works once you are picked up, however, I'd like to know the community's opinion on the likelihood of being selected to Active Duty CA from the Reserves in today's military job climate. I understand this is an individual thing, but an "in general" assessment would help.

Many of my buddies have gone over to AD CA from the reserve force. In fact the recruitment into the active duty is always open. The O path is faster than the enlisted. In fact the CSM of USCAPOC is and was a reserve. The Officer path is relatively easy one and all is required is to re-branch. If you want deeper insights I can put you in touch with some old buddies via e-mail and the like to give the ropes. Typically we have 03 and 04s as Team Commanders.
