Wow. Property rights was one of the primary things that moved us from the "state of nature" to the type of social contract that enabled our current societies, particularly in the West. If you can't protect your own property, or if the government won't do it for you, it's a short step down to not being able to protect yourself.

He can go fuck himself. This is why I live at least 40 minutes from the nearest small city and 2 hours from a major center. It's also why my 2 dogs have a combined weight over 200lbs. That's besides the assortment of "self defense" items around the house.
