Seeking an in-person SARC Mentor for fin training/dive-mo. I'm a prior enlisted 5-year HM currently attending University of Texas at San Antonio as a full time student. Being prior enlisted I know there are some dive-mo instructors here since this is where HM A-School is I was wondering if anyone knew some of the instructors who offer training outside of the official capacity since I'm not currently enlisted and would not be able to sit-in during early-morning dive-mo as a civi. I have never gone to FMTB. I'm 25yo and PRT scores are excellent. My biggest weakness is my hip strength and water competency. More specifically treading water and swim stroke efficiency.

I'm projecting my ship date for FMTB to be 4-7 months from now since I'm waiting to finish this semester of school. I'm also attending military science classes/ARMY ROTC where we are rucking, conducting PT, weapons familiarization, land navigation, and other various land-based tactics which I'm sure would be useful during FMTB. That plus the 2 months at FMTB should be more than enough to get me back into a training-environment-mentality for BRPC.

If anyone would be able to connect me with a local instructor/trainer I would highly appreciate it. Any other advice is welcomed as well.

Hey man im gonna be heading back to San Antonio in a month or so and I'm also looking for a SARC Mentor in the area as well as a partner to train with. I'm prior Army looking to go back in through Corpsman rate and pursue SARC. Hit me up if you're interested. I've put out a ton of searches for swimming instructors in the region to no avail. I even went as far as looking for PJs or aspiring PJs to swim with or learn from
