Headquarters: Mexico City.
The ''Cuerpo de Fuerzas Especiales'' is made up by the following units:
3 Special Forces Brigades divided into three Special Forces Battalions each. *Formerly known as Grupo Aeromovil de Fuerzas Especiales (GAFE).
1 Fuerza Especial del Alto Mando ( High Command Special Force) * Formerly known as Grupo Aeromovil de Fuerzas Especiales del Alto Mando.
1 Fuerza de Intervención Rápida (Rapid Intervention Force)
There are also Several groups of Grupos Anfibios de Fuerzas Especiales ( Amphibious Special Forces Groups, or GANFE) * Unknown operational status. The army had or has the intention of disbanding this unit.
