State residency When enlisting

This might be a dumb question but i couldn't find Any answers to this specifically, since im moving to the US and Will enlist asap i Will be living with friends and using airbnb in the beginning until i can find an apartment with short lease length. So My question is do i have to be a resident in the state i Will be living in to be able to enlist?

The internet is a great and wondrous thing. It has pretty much eliminated the need for buying dictionaries and encyclopedias. All you have to do is type in a word and it will give you tons of information. Those who can not do that yet really have a lot to learn.

I'm sorry if it seems like i have not done Any research but i have, there was Only one part i didn't quite understand.

I know it seems simple, I am an US Citizen but i Will be living through airbnb When first moving wich makes me not a resident of any US state i belive. That is why i ask if i have to be a resident of that state i Will be living in to enlist wich i could't find answers for or i just don't understand it.

The article states that you must either be a US citizen (which you say you are), or a legal permanent resident (green card). Since you hold citizenship I'd think you would be able to enlist immediately regardless of holding a residence or if anything you would claim the place you were staying as your residence then have it changed through the proper channels once you were ready.

However I could be wrong, your best bet in all of this though would be to call the recruiting office for the area you plan on staying at and getting the full rundown on your situation. Besides if anything it helps you get your foot in the door with him.
