TACP question

hello All I have a question about the National Guard side of becoming a TACP.I am currently out of the Army National Guard I did a six by two contract I just have some questions about National Guard units availability near Virginia and me being an E5 would it make it more difficult of getting a slot at a chance at going to school. The two closest TACP units to VA are the 118th ASOS in North Carolina and the 148th ASOS in Pennsylvania. Being an E-5 shouldn't be an issue. I enlisted into the Air Guard for TACP as an E-5 and have seen others do it.
