Greetings,
I am a retired GySgt and served in the Marine Corps for 20 years. As an AV-8B Harrier maintainer, I deployed a bunch but was never really in harms way (except maybe when partying too hard in various exotic ports...).
I've been retired for over 10 years but still work closely with the military. I get older and fatter by the day, however my son is young, strong, smart, and naïve (weren't we all..); he about to graduate high school and is in the process of entering the USAF. He is determined to go SOWT...
I realize I cannot talk him out of it (not sure I want to), and I can't do this for him. However, I am hoping that folks here may be able to help me prepare him for what may be the first and also the biggest challenge of his life.
