Remember our brother who went forth.
25 October 1983.
4 SEALs drowned during a drop into heavy seas.
CCT made multiple attempts to get ashore and faired poorly.
The Ranger airdrop was delayed by the mission commander (Navy FWIW), so they went in at dawn's early light (0530ish), with Marines going north
@ 1700 hrs the 82nd was alerted and started the N-hour sequence.
I remember watching the cattle cars head to Green Ramp (similar to the scene in Band of Brothers)
It was messy, but the lessons learned allowed us to do a better job next time.
A toast to those SEALs, Rangers, Nightstalkers, Marines, and Paratroopers who gave all.
Tailwinds, soft landings and following seas.
Hoo yah!
