USAF in 1956

[AWP]

A really neat photo containing almost all of the Air Force's operational aircraft as of 1956. I think I was able to name all but two without looking them up (back them a lot of fighters were derivatives of earlier craft and thus looked the same or similar).

I remember my plastic toy F102 Delta Dagger, and building a model F100 Super Sabre with my dad. He worked for Pratt & Whitney and later for Sikorsky so I was pretty savvy on my AC IDs early on. For some reason I really liked C-119s, "Flying Boxcars" and used to get excited when I'd see them fly over the house.

The first time I ever flew, I was about 9, and flew with my dad in a Sikorsky S-61N. Loved helos ever since...
