There is a first for everything. I broke a tooth last night #31, split it down the middle and was in mind throbbing pain throughout the night. I was sitting in the parking lot waiting for them to open, no appointment, not registered at the clinic, no PCD, x-rays, etc. The lady at the front desk was amazing, made a few calls, had me x-rayed and in the dentist chair within an hour. Everyone was incredibly polite and understanding. Dentist before making any decision, numbed me up and than went on to exam and consult with his peer's. All while doubling down on his scheduled appointment.

The prognosis was the tooth had to go, apparently the only way to do that without waiting another day was to do it with local, that didn't work so well, tooth did not want to come out, ended up drilling into the gum/bone and using another numbing agent (as best I understand). Anyway with two dentist tag teaming it, a outstanding assistant staying through her lunch break, and almost 4 hours in the chair. I walked out swollen, bleeding and missing a tooth. With an appointment for follow up next Friday, which is unheard of for that clinic (they definitely went out of their way for me). Only foul-up was the doc forgot to put in a scrip for pain meds (phone call fixes that) but all in all, this was the best treatment and consideration I've ever received, ever, anywhere.

Not saying Audie Murphy is all like that, but the outpatient dental clinic has my undying thankfulness and appreciation for the treatment, care and understanding they showed me today.

I normally am pretty harsh on the VA system and many of the clinics, doctors and specialist I've dealt with in the past. But this experience today was eye opening for me.

Just thought I would share a good experience.
