Could you maybe touch on how/why National Guard TACPs go to SOF selection? If you pass do you go back to your old unit or are you transferred to active duty? Also, how hard is it to get a slot? Thank you for your help.

They go for the same reasons anyone goes to a Selection. Why would you think being an ANG TACP would yield a different answer? You transfer to a Special Tactics Squadron if selected. I don't know how hard it is to get a slot. We're not privy to how many packages are submitted vs. accepted. The hard part isn't getting the package approved.

Makes sense. I just know many people have trouble with making the switch from NG to AD and didn't know it was that easy for TACPs (logistically speaking, of course).
