Maduro Captured

What makes this so interesting is that the Russians sent naval forces to escort the falsely-flagged ships and we were STILL like "nah, fam" and seized it anyway.
Exactly. Why did the Russians take such interest in this particular tank?

I saw reports that discuss the tanker's waterline and how it would sit much lower if it were loaded with oil. So, what did it have on it? Because it seems unlikely the Russians would deploy the naval assets it did for an old empty tanker that just painted their flag on the side.

Tanker has cargo that Russia doesn't want revealed?
Putin was trying to save face?
Trump's pissed at Putin's refusal to sign a ceasefire?

Clearly, President Trump is just colluding with the Russians.

Something I thought about the other day, I wonder how many of the 160th and ground guys on the Maduro mission had prior combat experience?

I only bring it up because we had two decades of war and some very, very limited stuff in the last few years. It stands to reason dudes are hitting CAG without a single combat deployment by now.

That's a good point, but my (extremely peripheral) experience, a whole lot of them came from units that were still putting in work, even when much of the rest of the Army wasn't. The CAG guys are also considerably older than the entry-level Rangers and enlisted crew members in the 160th.

I imagine some of the officers in the 160th might not have a lot of combat experience though, some may even have none.
