The two-star head of the command responsible for coordinating support for Ukraine left a tube of classified maps behind on a train in Europe, losing control of the sensitive material for 24 hours, a new report from the Department of Defense Inspector General’s office has found.

Then-Army Maj. Gen. Antonio Aguto, now retired, was also found to have sustained a concussion following a night of drinking to intoxication at a social event in Kyiv, leading to incoherence and confusion in a briefing the next day

"CLASSIFIED"

pfft...
...didnt we have an FBI director not that long ago that BRAGGED about leaking information to a friend - so the friend could leak it too the press - so the press could generate public outcry - so that public outcry could be used to generate an investigstion into the fabricated evidence that he "helped" to collect ???

Also - something, something, "Signal App ???

"CLASSIFIED"

whatever - this is America - that word doesn't exist - especially not within government circles

Here's the thing: based on the reporting, why is the blame on him? Did he take possession at some point?

While a witness reported seeing a noncommissioned officer in the travel party carry the map tube onto the train, nobody saw it being taken off.

Because in the IG report he himself (along with others) claimed that he was the one who decided to bring the classified maps with them on the train and would assign control of the material to his travel party members.

According to one of the witnesses, the traveling group itself was responsible for physically carrying the map tube and that they typically (apparently not the first time) would place the map tube in the General's cabin, and after arrival the General would gather his things, including the map tube, and leave the train.
