Hello,
I originally signed up for the forum a while ago, but haven't been back till now. I thought I should follow the rules and post an introduction. So here it goes.
I am currently in school right now finishing up my degree in Finance with a minor in Computer Science. I plan to secure a trading job at a major bulge bracket bank on the Street. Over the years, I kept having this overwhelming feeling to serve and as I get older I realize my time to do so is running out. Having a major life regret of not serving (which I will regret till the day I die), seems to be the number one thing on my mind these days! So I plan to change that very thing!
My current goal is to enlist (do not want to be an officer atm) in the USMC Reserves. I specifically want to be Marine Recon - and I am going to try and get the "Recon contract," that guarantees me a shot at BRCP. I feel being in the Recon community ultimately fits my lifestyle and interests the best & gives me the best opportunity where I feel that I can give all that I have to offer.
I plan on talking to the recruiters down in Mobile, AL for getting into the 3rd Force Recon unit. I am also open to the 4th Force Recon unit in Alameda, CA. I do not know the differences between these two units. Nonetheless, the 3rd Force Recon unit in Mobile is easier for me to commute to (half the commute time).
I hope this serves as a decent introductory and I look forward to being a contributing member on Shadowspear! Don't worry - I will read all the rules and do the best I can to not post redundant questions/information (use the search function).
